Wangji (忘机, Wàngjī) is Lan Wangji's seven-stringed guqin.

At the Burial Mounds, Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian duet with Wangji and Chenqing to stop the Fierce Corpse of Wen Ning from a rampage.[1]
During the Bloodbath of Nightless City, Lan Wangji attempts to play Purification Tone to calm Wei Wuxian, but the half-mad Wei Wuxian insists that it is no use on him.[2]
Thirteen years later, Lan Wangji uses his guqin to suppress the Demonic Left Arm in Mo Village.[3] When the arm's immense resentful energy harms several Gusu Lan Clan elders, Wangji duets Rest with Wei Wuxian's bamboo flute to suppress it again. In Yi City, Lan Wangji uses both his guqin and Bichen to battle Xue Yang, to the admiration of the junior disciples.[7] In the aftermath, after not playing Rest for several day, Lan Wangji uses Wangji to duet with Lan Xichen's Liebing to suppress Nie Mingjue's Fierce Corpse.[8]
At the Second Siege of the Burial Mounds, Wangji was used along with Bichen to defend the cultivators who had their spiritual powers sealed.[9]
During the confrontation in the Guanyin Temple, Lan Wangji first duets Wangji with Liebing in an attempt to suppress Nie Mingjue's fierce corpse, but their efforts are not successful. However, Wangji's duet with Wei Wuxian's Chenqing finally persuades Nie Mingjue to climb into the coffin where he can be suppressed.[10]
