The Morning - Part One is the twenty-eighth chapter of Mo Dao Zu Shi. The original term is a metaphor for something that is short-lived.[1]
Synopsis []
In Yueyang, Lan Wangji inquires how the Curse Mark is, and Wei Wuxian replies that it has faded somewhat, but probably will not fade entirely until they find the head of the Demonic Left Arm's body.
Wei Wuxian asks Lan Wangji if he thinks that the person who separated the corpse is the same as the one who threw the arm into Mo Village. Lan Wangji believes they are separate people, and Wei Wuxian concurs. He then asks once more how Lan Wangji recognized him, and once more is told to think on it himself.
Lan Wangji declares his intent to find the cultivation clan in this area, but Wei Wuxian suggests a different plan: drinking at a tavern and asking theirs waiters for gossip. Lan Wangji concedes, and when the waiter dares Wei Wuxian that if he can stand after drinking a whole bowl, he will take his surname.
Wei Wuxian inquires if there have been any strange events lately, which the waiter denies. He adds, however, that over ten years ago, the entire Yueyang Chang Clan was massacred in a single night. Outsiders heard slamming on the doors from inside alongside screams, as if the members had been locked inside. The ordinary townsfolk felt powerless to help, but when they investigated the next day, they found that everyone in the clan had been frightened to death.
The waiter then adds that he cannot fathom what would be so frightening to cultivators. When he mentions that the clan leader, Chang Ping, had been away and thus survived, Wei Wuxian interrupts, reminding the waiter that he had claimed that everyone had died.[2]

Author's Note[]
Mo Xiang Tong Xiu's end-of-chapter note reads:[1]
The first new chapter title has appeared!
Everyone needn’t backtrack to check how he was recognized, because I haven’t written it. The suspense is unresolved, but there were a small number of readers in the forum whose postulations are in the right direction =V=
Also, don’t doubt your memory, because I really haven’t written the scene where WiFi carries Lan Er on his back. But I will write it. The past events will all be unlocked ~
