The Malevolent - Part Two is the twenty-fourth chapter of Mo Dao Zu Shi.
Synopsis []
Jiang Cheng borrows Jin Ling's dog as he hurls Wei Wuxian into an empty room. He pours himself a cup of tea, only to smash it on the ground and demand if Wei Wuxian has anything to say to him.
Knowing his fear of dogs has given away his identity, Wei Wuxian replies that he does not know what to say. Jiang Cheng replies that he has not changed, and Wei Wuxian says the same is true for him.
Jiang Cheng then calls the dog, and in terror Wei Wuxian cries out Lan Wangji's name. Jiang Cheng then speculates that Lan Wangji had an affair with Mo Xuanyu, causing Wei Wuxian to warn him to watch his words.
Jiang Cheng promptly retorts that Wei Wuxian did not watch his words to Jin Ling on Dafan Mountain, when he asked if there was no mother to teach him. Jiang Cheng reminds him that he is responsible for his nephew's orphaning, before declaring his intent to take Wei Wuxian back to Lotus Pier.
Just then, Jin Ling knocks on the door of the room, falsely claiming to have seen a fast-moving, chained Fierce Corpse he believed to be Wen Ning earlier that day. Jiang Cheng commands Jin Ling to watch over Wei Wuxian, giving him Zidian before he departs to hunt "Wen Ning."
As soon as his uncle leaves, Jin Ling removes Zidian and escapes with Wei Wuxian. The dog follows, until Wei Wuxian asks Jin Ling to send it away. Jin Ling agrees, but complains that Fairy is a spiritual dog who is well-trained.
Wei Wuxian is caught off-guard by the name, noting it is reminiscent of Jiang Cheng's habit of naming his puppies Love, Jasmine, and Princess. Jin Ling says that since Zidian did not draw out Wei Wuxian's soul, and since Wei Wuxian was not a cutsleeve who dared to harass... someone, he will just trust that Mo Xuanyu is not Wei Wuxian.
Jin Ling commands Wei Wuxian to go, declaring that he will not say anything cringe-worthy. Wei Wuxian replies that there are two cringe-worthy phrases everyone will say in their lifetime: "thank you," and "I'm sorry." He then apologizes for his words on Dafan Mountain.
Jin Ling shrugs off the apology, saying that he was not the first to say such things. He declares that he is not inferior because he has no parents, and he will prove anyone who thinks so wrong. Wei Wuxian then knocks him unconscious.
After Wei Wuxian transfers the Curse Mark to his own leg, Jin Ling awakens and shouts in anger that no one has ever hit him – not even Jiang Cheng, despite his constant threats. Wei Wuxian pretends to see Lan Wangji to incite Jin Ling to flee.
Now alone, Wei Wuxian recalls when Jiang Fengmian first found him in Yiling, after hearing that his parents had died during a night-hunt. He brought Wei Wuxian back to Lotus Pier, upon which Jiang Cheng had to send his beloved puppies away due to his brother's phobia. Nevertheless, the boys grew close, and Jiang Cheng would chase dogs away for him.
He muses that he always thought Jiang Cheng would be on his side and Lan Wangji on the opposite. Suddenly, Lan Wangji appears with a dark look on his face.[1]

The facade will be exposed in the next chapter!
Shidi is just sick with obsession and resentment, but it doesn’t mean that he harbors those kind of feelings. This book is 1v1; this banner is held up high, and is unwavering.
