Sandu: The Three Poisons - Part Two is the fifty-seventh chapter of Mo Dao Zu Shi.
Synopsis []
Wei Wuxian recalls Lan Wangji's tear-streaked face and asks how he was at the news. In response, Jiang Cheng asks how he could be, before explaining that Lan Xichen is likely hiding, as he took some of the Gusu Lan Clan's ancient books and musical scores before the Qishan Wen Clan could burn them.
The younger shidi approach, excitedly asking about Wei Wuxian's adventures in the cave of the Xuanwu of Slaughter.
Yu Ziyuan forbids Wei Wuxian from leaving Lotus Pier, concerned that the Qishan Wen Clan will retaliate. As a result, Wei Wuxian can only shoot one-eyed monster kites with the rest of their shidi day after day.
As the Sixth Shidi leads the other boys to fetch the kites again, Wei Wuxian reflects that Jiang Fengmian has once more gone to Qishan in an attempt to retrieve their swords after another argument with Yu Ziyuan. Wei Wuxian wishes they could simply seal their swords to prevent the Wens from using them, but Jiang Cheng says that they would need to cultivate for another eighty years to reach that possibility.
Suddenly, the shidi return without the Sixth Shidi. They frantically explain that he was mysteriously arrested by a pretty woman accompanied by Wens. Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng realize that Wang Lingjiao is here.
Yu Ziyuan approaches the shouting boys, flanked by Jinzhu and Yinzhu. She tells Jiang Cheng to calm down, just as Wang Lingjiao enters.
Wang Lingjiao announces that she is back, and says they will discuss the Sixth Shidi once she sits down inside. Yu Ziyuan sarcastically asks her to go inside, and without realizing that her manners are ridiculous, Wang Lingjiao waltzes inside Lotus Pier.
After insulting the decor and scolding Yu Ziyuan's decorating abilities, Wang Lingjiao sits at the head table. She slams her hands on the table, demanding tea.
Yinzhu tells her to get it herself, and Jinzhu adds that the Yunmeng Jiang Clan's servants have more important things to do than brew tea.
Wang Lingjiao is appalled that maids would speak to her in such a way. Despite her own status as a servant, she insists that servants must know their inferior place.
Yu Ziyuan explains that Jinzhu and Yinzhu are not ordinary maids. They have been with her since she was little, and no one would dare slap them. Still, Yu Ziyuan eyes Wei Wuxian as she loftily agrees that servants should know their place, before inquiring again on the arrest of their Sixth Shidi.
To everyone's astonishment, Wang Lingjiao explains that the boy was arrested because the one-eyed monster kite has a round red spot. By shooting the spot, the Sixth Shidi is implying that he wants to shoot down the sun – the Qishan Wen Clan.
Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian protest, but Yu Ziyuan interrupts to ask if a kite is the reason she visited today.
As Wei Wuxian feared, Wang Lingjiao announces that she is actually here to punish Wei Wuxian for nearly causing Wen Chao to lose to the Xuanwu of Slaughter. With dread, Wei Wuxian realizes that Jiang Fengmian was purposefully led out for their swords earlier.
Wang Lingjiao then implies that if Yu Ziyuan declines to punish Wei Wuxian, one must wonder if the rumors of Jiang Fengmian's romantic ties are true.
Just then, Yu Ziyuan proceeds to whip Wei Wuxian with Zidian. Jinzhu and Yinzhu hold Jiang Cheng back when he attempts to intervene.
After finishing, Yu Ziyuan declares that he will not be able to move for a month. Wang Lingjiao, however, is unsatisfied. She requests that Wei Wuxian's right hand be cut off.
Jiang Cheng breaks free and throws himself in front of Wei Wuxian, begging his mother not to take Wei Wuxian's hand.
A cold look appears in Yu Ziyuan's eyes. She commands Jinzhu and Yinzhu to close the doors so no one sees the blood.
Although Wei Wuxian is initially afraid, he resolves that he will just learn left-handed sword work from now on. His hand is worth peace for the Yunmeng Jiang Clan.
In delight, Wang Lingjiao commands someone to hold Wei Wuxian down, but Yu Ziyuan says there is no need as Jinzhu and Yinzhu approach.
Wang Lingjiao expresses her admiration for Yu Ziyuan, and declares the second reason for her visit: the Qishan Wen Clan is appointing Supervisory Offices in every city. Lotus Pier will be the new supervisory office for Yunmeng.
As she prattles on, Yu Ziyuan suddenly delivers a deafening slap.
Advancing upon her, she delivers a second slap. Wang Lingjiao attempts to invoke the names of the Qishan Wen Clan and the Yingchuan Wang Clan.
Yu Ziyuan mocks Wang Lingjiao, declaring that her Meishan Yu Clan has been around for ages, before asking which gutter the Yingchuan Wang Clan emerged from.
Yu Ziyuan then kicks Wang Lingjiao, stating:[1]
You mentioned the superior and the inferior before me? Then let me teach you what superiority and inferiority means! I am the superior, you are the inferior![1]
