A list of other clans mentioned in the Novel and other adaptations.
Baling Ouyang Clan[]
Described as much smaller than the nearby Yunmeng Jiang Clan,[1] the Baling Ouyang Clan (巴陵歐陽氏 Bālíng Ōuyáng Shì) has one named member: Ouyang Zizhen, a romantic young master who is among the juniors lured to Yi City.[2] Ouyang Zizhen is the only son of the clan leader.[3]
Animation Divergence[]
In the Animation, the Baling Ouyang Clan is lead by a man named Ouyang Xin at the time of the Sunshot Campaign. They join the war, citing the Qishan Wen Clan's destruction of their ancestral hall and killing of several clansmen. Only with Lan Wangji's help do they survive.[4]
Laoling Qin Clan[]
The Laoling Qin Clan (乐陵秦氏, Làolíng Qín Shì) is a subsidiary clan of the Lanling Jin Clan led by Qin Cangye, Jin Guangshan's subordinate, the father of Qin Su.[5]
Meishan Yu Clan[]
While not on the same level as the five great cultivation clans, the Meishan Yu Clan (眉山虞氏, Méishān Yú Shì) is powerful enough to have pressured Jiang Fengmian to create an alliance by marriage to Yu Ziyuan in the wake of Cangse Sanren's elopement with Wei Changze.[6]
A woman likely heads the Meishan Yu Clan around the time of the Sunshot Campaign since Jiang Fengmian orders Jiang Cheng to find his grandmother at Meishan.[7]
Moling Su Clan[]
A rising clan led by Su She.[8] The Moling Su Clan's (秣陵苏氏, Mòlíng Sū Shì) musical cultivation techniques are derivative of those of the Gusu Lan Clan, leading to a rivalry.[9]
Tingshan He Clan[]
The Tingshan He Clan (亭山何氏, Tíngshān Hé Shì) is falsely accused of treason for protesting Jin Guangshan's implementation of the Chief Cultivator position, and all sixty to seventy members of the clan are executed by Xue Yang and Jin Guangyao as a result. Their leader was He Su.[10]
Yao Clan[]
The Yao Clan (姚氏, Yáo Shì) is a cultivation clan of the arts from an unknown location, led by Clan Leader Yao.[3]
Web Series Divergence[]
In the Web Series, the Yao Clan is based in Pingyang (平阳姚氏, Píngyáng Yáo Shì). They are nearly exterminated by the Qishan Wen Clan in the days preceding the Sunshot Campaign.[11]
Yingchuan Wang Clan[]
The Yingchuan Wang Clan (潁川王氏, Yǐngchuān Wáng Shì) is a minor clan that gained favor and climbed the ranks due to Wang Lingjiao's relationship with Wen Chao.[12]
Yueyang Chang Clan[]
- Main article: Yueyang Chang Clan
A cultivation clan based in Yueyang, most of its members were murdered in their home by Xue Yang, who tested the reconstructed Yin Tiger Tally on them. They were survived by their leader, Chang Ping, and several unnamed members. A few years later, Xue Yang, masquerading as Xiao Xingchen, killed the survivors, choosing lingchi as the means to execute Chang Ping.
Animation Divergence[]
Hedong Fu Clan[]
The Hedong Fu Clan (河东符氏, Hédōng Fú Shì) joins the Sunshot Campaign, led by Fu Huan. Lan Wangji invites them to a war council, and they arrive with over two-hundred clan members.[4]
Runan Wang Clan[]
The Runan Wang Clan (汝南王氏, Rǔnán Wáng Shì) joins the Sunshot Campaign, led by Wang Jin. He cites the Qishan Wen Clan's killing of his family and rape of his sisters as his motivation.[4]
Other Likely Clans[]
At the council to start the Sunshot Campaign, four additional men introduce themselves and their locations: Sun Shan from Xiaoguan, Yang Zaihan from Tangxi, Li Tong from Wuzhou, and Wu Ye from Shangqiu. Whether they are leaders of four clans of their own or guest disciples is not mentioned. However, given that their introductions follow Baling Ouyang, Hedong Fu, and Runan Wang, it seems likely that they are the leaders of four additional clans: Xiaoguan Sun (萧关孙氏, Xiāoguān Sūn Shì), Tangxi Yang (堂溪杨氏, Tángxī Yáng Shì), Wuzhou Li (梧州李氏, Wúzhōu Lǐ Shì), and Shangqiu Wu (商丘吴氏, Shāngqiū Wú Shì).[4]
