- Suihua (岁华) is the name of Jin Zixuan's sword.
- The line "when Xian was in Cloud Recesses" (羡云天) is the implied meaning. The direct translation is "envy the cloudy skies". 羡 (Xian) means "envy", and Wei Wuxian （魏无羡)'s name means "no envy". The words "忘羡" (Wangxian) can also be read together as a reference to Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian's relationship.
- The 星霜 (stars and frost) in this line is a reference to Xiao Xingchen (晓星尘) and his sword Shuanghua (霜华).
- The 雪 (snow) in this line is a reference to Song Lan's sword Fuxue (拂雪).
