The "Hook Hand" was a serial killer who lived several generations prior to the present-day of the Novel.[1]

Appearance[]

According to legend, before becoming a serial killer, the Hook Hand was a young man with good looks.[1]

After surviving his attempted murder, the Hook Hand had no eyelids or lips. His eyeballs were bloodshot and his gums bright red.[2]

Personality[]

While alive, the Hook Hand had a diligent and kind personality. After his wife's betrayal, he became a sadistic misogynist who tortured many innocent young women to death.[1]

History[]

According to a waitress near the Bai Residence, the Hook Hand was originally a young blacksmith. Although he was poor, he was skilled and good-looking, and he married a beautiful woman. However, despite his kindness to his wife, she fell for another man and killed her husband.[1]

Worried that someone would recognize her husband’s corpse, the wife removed his eyelids and made several dozen cuts on his face. To ensure that he could not reveal her misdeeds to the Judge of the Underworld, she uses an iron hook to pull out his tongue.[1]

The blacksmith's mutilated body was tossed into a mass grave west of the city, yet not even the crows dared to peck his face.[1]

Unfortunately for the wife, her husband was not entirely dead. That night, he crawled out of his grave, traveled home, and slit his wife's throat with the iron hook. He then cut her face and pulled her tongue out, but his resentment did not subside.[1]

For a couple years, the Hook Hand killed every beautiful woman he saw. Although women did not dare walk alone the moment the sky darkened, nor did they dare sleep without a man nearby, he continued to kill. Every so often, a female corpse without a tongue would be tossed out onto the streets.[1]

Eventually, an unknown man disguised himself as a woman and allowed himself to be caught by the Hook Hand. He did not dare scream as the Hook Hand tortured him in an inn. But when the serial killer attempted to remove his tongue with the iron hook, he bit down on the hook instead.[2]

The victim used the iron hook to stab the Hook Hand in his stomach and wrist. Although the Hook Hand managed to strangle the unknown man to death, the Hook Hand died of blood loss.[2]

Later, the Bai Residence was built over the spot where the inn once stood, and the last victim's Ghost began to haunt the Room build over the site of his death.[2]
