Family Banquet - Part Two is the one-hundred and fifteenth chapter of Mo Dao Zu Shi.
Synopsis []
Before they can try that evening, Lan Wangji goes to speak to Lan Xichen.
In the Jingshi, Wei Wuxian finds himself unable to sleep without Lan Wangji, so he rummages around instead. He notices that, throughout all of his handwriting, Lan Wangji only ever made one single mistake, and then copied the character a hundred times.
When Lan Wangji returns, Wei Wuxian attempts to role-play with him, but when he fails to resist Lan Wangji's advances, Lan Wangji pauses. Wei Wuxian then shows him the mistaken character to tease him, and realizes that the mistake just so happened to occur at the time he was visiting the Cloud Recesses.
The two make love for half the night. Wei Wuxian eventually asks after Lan Xichen, and Lan Wangji says that his brother is not well. In all the years he was in seclusion, Lan Xichen comforted him, but now the situation is the exact opposite.
Lan Wangji rises at five the next morning, but does not wake Wei Wuxian. In the months they have married, he has learned that righting Wei Wuxian's sleeping habits is an impossible task. Wei Wuxian awakens at eleven, upon which Lan Wangji insists he eat before the banquet due to Wei Wuxian's dislike of medicinal cuisine in the Cloud Recesses.
Wei Wuxian recalls the lively clan banquets of Lotus Pier, where everyone sat where they wanted and ate whatever and however much they wanted. He has never been to the Lanling Jin Clan's banquets, but they are known for their lavish decor and entertainment.
The Gusu Lan Clan's banquet is rather different. Everyone is silent and grave in their place. When Lan Qiren and Lan Xichen enter, Wei Wuxian notices that Lan Xichen looks rather frail despite his smile. Lan Qiren, meanwhile, refuses to look at Wei Wuxian.
As Wei Wuxian attempts to force himself to eat the distasteful soup they are served, he notices that his bowl has suddenly become empty. Lan Wangji has shifted his table closer to his, and drunk the soup for his husband.[1]

Author's Note[]
Mo Xiang Tong Xiu's end-of-chapter note reads:[2]
What I’m about to say next may come across a bit strong, because I am being quite serious. The recent situation has left me no other choice.
Reiterating with emphases: Please do not compare my story with that of other authors. This is an embarrassing and annoying thing for both authors, and it gives readers on both sides a very poor impression. Comparing the two stories side by side will cause unnecessary misunderstandings and lead to friction and confrontation.
I just want us all... to coexist peacefully. So please don’t act on impulse, don’t give in to the fleeting rush of winning an argument. Do not compare! Do not pull others down as a way to promote the things you like!
2. Don’t post (lit. "brush," 刷, shuā, slang) about me or my novels where it’s irrelevant; for example, other authors’ comment sections, chat groups, Weibo, etc. And please don’t bring up my characters in replies to unaffiliated artist’s Weibo posts. Appreciate my work with restraint. Excessively promoting it inevitably will lead to the opposite of the intended effect. There is a time and a place for such things, otherwise you’ll cause embarrassment and annoyance. I really hope we can avoid this sort of thing.
3. The most important point – I don't know if there are really readers who will send private messages to people they don't know about me or my stories, but I would like to emphasize: Please don't send private messages to people you don't know under the banner of recommending me and my stories. Refuse to forcibly put me or my text in private messages in any form. No matter whether you are recommending it or not, you don't need to at all! I vehemently reject this kind of behavior. Neither I nor anyone I know will do this kind of thing and I refuse to carry the pot ( , slang for "carry the blame," specifically for something you did not support). \ Existing in 3D takes up all my time and energy reserves and I really do not have it in me to oversee the behavior of my readers/fans (lit. "there is no machine in POI," a reference to "Person of Interest"). I can’t in any official capacity make people stop what they’re doing (lit. "I can't use clone jutsu"), I can only ask nicely. And this is my third time making such a request. My disclaimers grow longer with every update; each time I must write one feels like wringing out my brain, so let’s hope I don’t need to write any more disclaimers like this and can just focus on writing my story. Other than that, I can only put my faith in everyone reminding each other to behave well. I believe the vast majority of my readers are rational. So please call out inappropriate behavior should you encounter it. Thank you!
I’ll paste a copy of this disclaimer at the beginning of Chapter 1, the summary, and my author’s main page, and I’ll leave it up as long as I feel the need. This should make it plenty clear. If you really like my writing, you’ll definitely see it ^_^
I know this is TL;DR. But if you have read this far, then there’s no problem. Thanks so much for understanding. Hearts (lit. 比哈特, Bǐhātè, slang for "heart to heart"), love you guys.
