The twenty-fourth episode of the Web Series premiered on July 22, 2019.
Synopsis[]
Wei Wuxian strides back into the banquet to insist that Jiang Yanli be given the choice, not Jiang Cheng. Jiang Cheng supports this, and Jiang Yanli declines the engagement, given the state of the Yunmeng Jiang Clan after the massacre.
Jin Guangyao then announces that Jin Guangshan intends to hold a night hunt on Mount Baifeng in the fall. Although many view it as a generous gesture, Nie Mingjue appears concerned that the Lanling Jin Clan wishes to establish itself over the other clans, a concern later confirmed by a private council between Jin Guangyao and Jin Guangshan.
Jin Guangshan asks his son to locate the last piece of Yin Metal, and Jin Guangyao says that all he knows is that it was last in the hands of Xue Yang. However, it was not on his person, and as Wei Wuxian was able to spend time alone with Xue Yang, he becomes Jin Guangshan's suspect for the last piece of Yin Metal.
Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng, and Jiang Yanli return to Lotus Pier, and Lan Wangji returns to the Cloud Recesses.
Lan Wangji attempts to learn music to aid Wei Wuxian, but Lan Qiren demands that Lan Xichen speak to him and forces Lan Wangji to copy books instead.
In Yunmeng, Wei Wuxian drinks with Lan Xichen, who uses his cultivation to avoid the effects of alcohol. Lan Xichen offers to take him back to the Cloud Recesses to return to cultivation with a sword, but Wei Wuxian refuses.
He returns to Lotus Pier to find Jiang Cheng concerned about Wei Wuxian's behavior. After speaking with Jiang Yanli, Wei Wuxian listens to her recall how Jiang Fengmian rescued him from the streets to bring him back to Lotus Pier. She says she has made lotus and pork rib soup for him, but Jiang Cheng admits that he ate most of it.
As they bicker like siblings, Jiang Yanli leaves to make more soup, and Wei Wuxian asks if Jiang Cheng opposes a marriage between their sister and Jin Zixuan. To his dismay, Jiang Cheng does not, as he knows that Jiang Yanli likes him.
At the Cloud Recesses, Lan Wangji sneaks into the Room of Forbidden Books to search for music that may help Wei Wuxian.[1]

Divergence from the Novel[]
In the novel, Xue Yang is a delinquent recommended by Jin Guangyao as a potential demonic cultivator,[2] and already present with the Lanling Jin Clan at the time of the Flower Banquet after the Sunshot Campaign.[3]
Wei Wuxian is sought by Jin Guangshan simply for his powerful Yin Tiger Tally, as Yin Metal does not exist in the novel.[4]
The novel does not depict Lan Wangji seeking music remedies for Wei Wuxian. Lan Wangji, not Lan Xichen, visits Wei Wuxian in Yunmeng.[5]
Lan Xichen does not drink at all in the novel.[4] In fact, according to a weibo post by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, he is as susceptible to alcohol as his brother.[6]
