The nineteenth episode of the Web Series premiered on July 16, 2019.
Synopsis[]
Wei Wuxian appears to be injured as he waits for Jiang Cheng's return from the mountain. He enters a shop only to realize it is a setup. He is caught by Wen Zhuliu and Wen Chao.
Jiang Cheng, meanwhile, awakens from a hallucination of his family to discover his Golden Core restored.
Wei Wuxian is ordered beaten by Wen Chao and Wang Lingjiao, before they throw him in the cursed Yiling Burial Mounds, a place with so much resentful energy he should never be able to escape. As Wei Wuxian falls, the bag on his waist begins to glow and emit black smoke.
After leaving the mountain Jiang Cheng searches for his brother, but learns nothing. Wen Qing and Wen Ning are imprisoned for aiding Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian.
Wei Wuxian awakens in the Burial Mounds to see the sword he took from inside the Xuanwu of Slaughter floating in an area of light. Voices call to him, promising revenge, and Wei Wuxian grasps the sword.
Three months later, Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng work together to attack a retinue of Qishan Wen Clan cultivators at the indoctrination site to retrieve their swords. They overhear the Wens discussing what they did to Wei Wuxian, horrifying them both.
Wang Lingjiao, however, begins to have nightmares. Although Wen Chao roughly dismisses her, she is convinced that Wei Wuxian will fulfill his promise of vengeance upon them. After Wen Chao leaves, she reads his letters and realizes the precarious position of the Qishan Wen Clan.
In the Qinghe, Jin Zixun informs his cousin Jin Zixuan that Wen Xu was beheaded in battle by Nie Mingjue. Jiang Cheng reunites with Jiang Yanli.
After a strategy meeting, Nie Mingjue asks Jin Zixuan if Meng Yao joined the Lanling Jin Clan, but Jin Zixuan says he has not heard of him.
Wang Lingjiao prepares to leave Wen Chao, but discovers her jewelry replaced with eyeballs. In terror, she pins a Spirit-Repelling Talisman on herself, only to sense something behind her.[1]

Divergence from the Novel[]
In the novel, Wen Xu's death occurs at Hejian, not Qinghe.[2]
Jin Zixun is not a strategist on the front lines, but rather in the reserves due to an unspecified injury.[3] Additionally, Jin Guangshan leads the battles for the Lanling Jin Clan, not Jin Zixuan.[2]
Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng do not discover what happened to Wei Wuxian before reuniting with him, and even then, he declines to tell them the details.[4] Moreover, Lan Xichen is a part of the attack to retrieve their swords, and this occurrs only one month into the Sunshot Campaign, rather than three months.[5]
Wen Qing and Wen Ning are never discovered to have aided Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian.
