Day and Night - Part Seven is the ninety-sixth chapter of Mo Dao Zu Shi.
Synopsis []
Wei Wuxian reflects that his promises to just ask Lan Wangji questions and do nothing else were just self-deception. While Lan Wangji had been humiliated by Jiang Cheng on precisely this matter yesterday, and while he was worried about Lan Xichen, Wei Wuxian had taken advantage of him.
Wei Wuxian thinks that he finally knows shame. When Lan Wangji reaches to help him clean off, Wei Wuxian hurriedly tells him that he does not have to touch him.
As Wei Wuxian cleans himself off, he says that they both drank too much and apologizes. He adds that these things are normal between men, and that Lan Wangji should not take it to heart.
Lan Wangji repeats his words calmly as questions, and after apologizing, Wei Wuxian begins to panic when Lan Wangji stands. Just then, the Innkeeper knocks on their door.
She informs them that water has leaked from their room to the room below, and is appalled to find ruined bathtub and the hole in the floor. Wei Wuxian says that it was his fault, that he made the hole when he became drunk. Lan Wangji pays her a large amount of silver to cover the damage.
The innkeeper says she will give them a new room, but to her confusion, Wei Wuxian now requests two rooms instead of one. He claims that he becomes violent while drunk and is afraid of hurting Lan Wangji.
Just before entering their rooms, Wei Wuxian apologizes for his actions, and Lan Wangji tells him he does not have to say those words to him. He assures Wei Wuxian that they will talk about the Guanyin Temple and go to Lanling tomorrow.
Feeling a bit better, Wei Wuxian enters his room.[1]
