Dafan Mountain (大梵山, Dàfàn Shān) is a large mountain, most known for a temple of the Heavenly Maiden it houses.
Description[]
The mountain is situated around 10 li (approximately 5 kilometres) away from the Mo Village. Due to their proximity, the mountain is the location Wei Wuxian first flees to after the Demonic Left Arm massacres the Mo family.[1]
Nestled at the mountain's foot lies a small settlement called Fojiao Town[2] frequented by villagers who climb the mountain to reach a temple. This temple was once inhabited by a possessed Heavenly Maiden, notorious for extracting worshipers' souls in exchange for fulfilling their desires.
Statue Incident[]
As villagers continue to lose their souls, rumors spread about a mysterious soul-stealing entity. Thus, a large group of cultivators gather to hunt this valuable prize, including cultivators from the Yunmeng Jiang Clan, Gusu Lan Clan, and Lanling Jin Clan.[2]
When Jin Ling provokes the statue by wishing it to come to life before his eyes, Wei Wuxian's desire to protect his nephew leads him to build a bamboo flute, with which he plans to summon a demonic creature to subdue the statue.[3]
To his surprise, he summons Wen Ning, who was long rumored to be dead. Realizing that the cultivators think Wen Ning dangerous and wish to kill him after he defeats the statue, Wei Wuxian leads him away by playing Wangxian, thereby revealing his true identity to a nearby Lan Wangji. His summoning of Wen Ning also leads Jiang Cheng to discover his true identity, who attempts to apprehend him before the members of the Lan Clan intervene and defend Wei Wuxian.[4]
Web Series Divergence[]
The Web Series portrays Wen Qing's branch of the Qishan Wen Clan as living on Dafan Mountain, instead of in Qishan with the rest of their clan.[5]

- Dafan Mountain is the scene of Wei Wuxian's first encounter with his nephew Jin Ling and former sworn brother Jiang Cheng after returning to life in the body of Mo Xuanyu.[6]
