Synopsis[]
Weak with hunger, Wei Wuxian frets that he will be first villainous ghost to starve to death upon resurrection. Fortunately, a servant named A-Tong arrives soon to deliver a bowl of food.
As he eats, Wei Wuxian listens to a conversation between A-Tong and another servant, A-Ding, revealing that there are walking corpses have been troubling Mo Village recently. Disciples from a prominent clan have visited to assist the village.
Wei Wuxian rummages through Mo Xuanyu's things to discover makeup. He gleefully paints his face to resemble a hanged ghost before bursting through the door. He kicks A-Tong to the ground and strides off as the servants watch in shock.[1]

In the novel, Mo Xuanyu died with his face painted to resemble a hanged ghost.[2] In the manhua, Wei Wuxian paints his face himself to further humiliate the Mo family.
